We’re making waves in Japan. After a successful event at the Sea Japan Exhibition earlier in the year, our Chief Customer Operations Officer, Jukka Kuuskoski, had the opportunity to talk about all things Norsepower with Japan Maritime Daily. In his interview, Jukka shared his insights about how Norsepower is bringing sails back to shipping. We've been able to save 20,100 plus tonnes of CO2 from being emitted since 2014 by harnessing the wind with our Norsepower Rotor SailTM (NPRSTM). With shorter payback period, minimal down time for installation and innovative leasing initiatives on offer, embracing the NPRSTM is a no-brainer. You can find the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/e8cxv_XM #Norsepower #Sustainability #Innovation #Maritime #CleanTech #SeaJapanExhibition #CO2Reduction

During Posidonia Events, Jukka Kuuskoski, our Chief Customer Operations Officer, and NAPA’s Senior Sales Manager, Philippos Giannakos, met Cyprus Shipping News to discuss the bold steps we are taking to build a more sustainable maritime industry. One way is through active collaborations. In a joint study with NAPA and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., we quantified the impact of combining a Norsepower Rotor SailTM (NPRSTM) with NAPA Voyage Optimization onboard a Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. vessel. We demonstrated that together, these solutions can help the vessel achieve up to 28% CO2 emissions reductions. For decision makers, it’s this type of data that’s accelerating clean technology adoption. As well as discussing how we are all doing our part, both Jukka and Philippos were keen to stress that there’s still significant progress to make – and how further collaborations can help get the wind truly behind the industry’s sails on its journey to net zero. Another Norsepower Rotor Sail™️ (NPRS™️) is officially out at sea, saving fuel and reducing emissions! In collaboration with BHP and PAN PACIFIC COPPER CO.,LTD. (PPC), our latest retrofit has been successfully installed onboard the M/V Koryu, operated by Nippon Marine. The vessel is currently on its NPRS-assisted maiden voyage across the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Chile. With estimated average fuel savings of 5-6 percent, calculated through our advanced simulations and real-world performance data, the M/V Koryu is poised to be the best-performing vessel in its class for GHG emission intensity. According to Allianz Commercial 3,500 ships must either be built or retrofitted annually until 2050 to meet the maritime industry’s carbon reduction targets. The growing significance of fuel efficiency solutions and other green technologies was brought forward on their Shipping and Safety Review 2024, alongside with the need to enhance shipyard capacity to modernise fleets. From Norsepower’s perspective, we’re passionate about the maritime industry innovation efforts for solving some of the sector's most complex environmental challenges. As an industry, it’s time to highlight the scale of the sector’s energy transition and the positive environmental and commercial impact that new solutions can make. By doing so, the maritime industry will be better positioned to attract the level of finance and talent necessary to accelerate the uptake, manufacturing and installation of these game-changing solutions. In the meantime, we continue to nurture our relationships with shipyards to ensure that we can offer customers the smoothest retrofit installation possible with experienced partners that they can trust. Sailing towards the weekend with a smile! 🌬 ⛵ Recently, our Norsepower team had the incredible opportunity to set sail aboard the Galiana with the legendary Tapio Lehtinen. We're proud to sponsor Tapio as he navigates the globe, embodying the same values of innovation, resilience, and sustainability that drive us every day. Tapio’s relentless pursuit of excellence and his ability to overcome the toughest maritime challenges resonate deeply with our mission. Just as Tapio harnesses the wind to propel his vessel, Norsepower leverages wind-assisted propulsion technology to drive maritime sustainability and efficiency. The experience was not only thrilling but also a powerful reminder of the shared commitment to pushing boundaries and leading the way towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for shipping. Thank you to everyone who joined us onboard and to Tapio for his inspiring journey. Together, we continue to chart a course towards innovation and environmental stewardship. 💚 🌍 #Norsepower #Sustainability #Innovation #MaritimeExcellence #TapioLehtinen #Galiana #WindPropulsion
