Every day’s a school day at Ensto Renley Ireland 😉 This week twelve staff attended an AED & CPR Course on site as part of their ongoing initiative to prioritise Health & Safety in the workplace. Declan Savage from Healthco delivered an engaging, interesting, interactive and fun course and all staff members passed with flying colours.

We got to interview four of our summer trainees in Finland, and now we would like to introduce them to you! There are some returning faces, and some new ones.   Meet Kalani Gunaratne, our procurement summer trainee. 💙 Meet Sandra Stade, our customer care summer trainee. 💙 Meet Kristian Lindfors, our logistics summer trainee. 💙 And meet Ellinoora Harju, our surface treatment summer trainee! 💙   Stade and Harju have both worked as summer trainees for Ensto before - Stade for two summers now, and Harju for three! Both would recommend Ensto as a place to work for the summer, and mention the work itself and their teams as examples why they've returned to Ensto.    Gunaratne and Lindfors are new to the company. Both have enjoyed their work, and would recommend Ensto as a place to work for the summer. For Gunartane, this is her first time experiencing the Finnish work culture as well, and she doesn't think she could've had a better start. For Lindfors, it feels like everyone is a part of one big family at Ensto. In 2023, we managed to: 🧡 Double our health and safety observations from last year 🧡 Decrease the number of accidents from 18 to 7   By implementation of our safety program, among other actions already in use, we achieved remarkable results! In 2023, we managed to: 💚 Reach our 2025 target of reducing Scope 1 & 2 CO2 emissions 💚 Create our first EPD for Ensto’s SLIW insulation piercing connectors   During 2023, we reached our 2025 target of reducing Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions ahead of time. This was largely due to decreased fuel consumption and reductions in emissions from purchased electricity. For 2024, our aim is to establish data from the company’s entire CO2 emissions and the long-term emissions reductions target, to reach net-zero.   In addition to our own operations, we want to make sure we get more accurate information about our solutions and reduce their negative impacts and increase the positive ones. The first EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) for Ensto’s SLIW insulation piercing connectors was finalized during the year, and the work continues to create more EPDs in 2024.
