How can multinational firms encourage innovation in host countries?
Innovation brings a multitude of benefits to both multinational firms (MNFs) and host countries. Innovation enables MNFs to stay ahead of the competition by introducing novel products, processes, and services that cater to evolving customer needs and market trends. This differentiation strengthens their position in the global marketplace. Besides, innovation opens up new avenues for growth by enabling MNFs to diversify their product offerings and expand into untapped markets. This diversification mitigates risks and enhances revenue streams.

How can multinational firms encourage innovation in host countries?
MNFs play a significant role in innovation by fostering the development and diffusion of new technologies and ideas across borders. They possess several unique advantages that enable them to drive innovation. When I was working at Tencent, I got to see the benefits of MNFs in innovation given their wider range of markets, talent, and knowledge sources. This global reach allows them to identify and tap into emerging trends and technologies early on. Besides, MNEs transfer technology and knowledge to their subsidiaries and partners in host countries, contributing to local innovation capabilities.

Our solution enables users to interact with physical objects from within the virtual space. Leveraging Hololens technology, we achieved real-time mapping of the physical environment, serving as a gateway for users to engage with holograms and virtual objects. These interactions were then transmitted to other devices that controlled real-world actions, such as maneuvering a robot. Our project essentially merged the realms of atoms and bits, facilitating seamless interaction between Mixed Reality (MR)/Virtual Reality (VR) and the physical world.

Our app harnesses real-time open data released by the City of Luxembourg, providing minute-by-minute updates on parking spot availability, which is displayed on an interactive map for user convenience. This solution proves invaluable to drivers, guiding them to the nearest available parking spot, thus reducing the time spent searching for parking and minimizing traffic congestion.
Moreover, our application records parking lot data and offers historical visualizations depicting parking patterns in various locations over time, including weekends, evenings, mornings, and more. This feature serves as a valuable resource for both everyday users planning their trips and city officials engaged in urban planning efforts.
Furthermore, our product is seamlessly integrated into the official Luxembourg public data webpage, accessible at: https://data.public.lu/en/reuses/parklux/Other creatorsSee project -
