We are finally able to announce that Sense4Care is in collaboration with the Consorci Sanitari Alt Penedès-Garraf which has secured funding for the MoMoPa-AM project, led by Dr. Alejandro Rodríguez-Molinero and Dr. Carlos Pérez López. This project aims to revolutionize mobility monitoring for Parkinson’s patients, a significant milestone in our ongoing MoMoPa research journey since 2009. With a total funding nearing 500,000 euros, MoMoPa-AM combines scientific investigation with entrepreneurial focus, reflecting our commitment to advancing healthcare technology, bringing together neurology experts from across the country. MoMoPa-AM will leverage cutting-edge sensor technologies to enhance symptom identification and enable personalized treatment interventions. By collecting objective mobility data from 100 patients over 6 hours each, our algorithmic approach will autonomously detect Parkinson’s motor symptoms, even during immobility. Another goal is to improve dyskinesia’s algorithm to provide a degree of severity. The outcomes of MoMoPa-AM will drive the development of an innovative monitoring solution, filling a critical gap in current Parkinson’s care. https://lnkd.in/dXygeSyT Stay tuned for updates on this transformative project! #ParkinsonsResearch #HealthTech #Innovation #Machinelearning #Medicaldevices #Realscience #Parkinsonsdisease #Parkinson #medtech #STATON #digitalhealth Daniel Rodríguez-Martín Chiara Capra Albert Pagès Raventós Joan Cabestany andreu catala mallofre

A Letter from the ASCAT Program Chair: Insights, Innovations, and Collaborative Action Await To My Fellow ASCAT Conference Attendees, Over the last decade, we have witnessed unprecedented advances in research as well as the development of long-awaited new treatments for individuals affected by Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia. This remarkable progress, as well as the impressive pipeline of potential new therapies, will be highlighted during ASCAT 2024. We will hear the lived experiences and perspectives of those directly affected by Haemoglobinopathies and the advocacy and legislative actions being taken to address remaining concerns. We will learn from experts across the globe about a variety of topics including pre-conception counseling, newborn screening, organ damage, access to care, and algorithms to choose the best course of treatment for each individual patient. As we developed this year’s program, we wanted to be certain to balance our celebration of the marked progress in treatment options with the reality that this progress has not been equally meaningful for all who are affected. Our conference theme embodies this sentiment: “Achieving Equitable Progress: A Call for Collaborative Action in a World of Growing Disparities.” As such, ASCAT 2024 will have didactic sessions, panel discussions, and ample networking time to understand and enhance global efforts to narrow the evolving disparities in diagnostic, care, and treatment access. We especially encourage young and promising researchers, doctors, and students to join us. Your fresh perspectives and innovative ideas are crucial to the continued advancement of our field. This is a unique opportunity to learn, share, and network with leading experts and peers dedicated to closing the Haemoglobinopathy equity gap. I look forward to welcoming you to ASCAT 2024! We work to close the care gap. Excerpts from JUL 23 CMO Corner (https://lnkd.in/eN4ABu9v) Patient centricity has long been a buzzword in the clinical trial community, but the concept is slowly beginning to take hold. It’s a re-setting of goals beyond collecting data from “subjects,” to the intentional inclusion of the real-world needs of patients and their caregivers. The pandemic actually helped to move the needle when it forced creative solutions that ultimately reduced patient burdens connected to clinical studies. Remote monitoring, allowing patients to get lab work at locations closer to home and even shipping drugs to patients homes are now finding their way into standard trial practice. While these logistical improvements are beneficial, we still have a long way to go to making patients true partners in clinical research, and ASCO 2023 president Eric P. Winer, set a challenge to “,,, unequivocally recommit ourselves to patients . . . Better, more equitable and engaged cancer care hinges on forging deeper, more meaningful relationships between oncology clinicians and the people we care for.” When everyone from trial designers to those who review and analyze data recognizes the value of this approach, both the efficiency and effectiveness of trials will be improved. Costs will be reduced and lessons learned will be more quickly translated into clinical practice. CROs who innovate and evolve in guiding studies to serve the greater healthcare community and patients in all parts of the world will play a large part in this transformation. At George Clinical it has always been our mission to improve the quality of life and the access to the best treatments for all people regardless of their demographic or economic background, and this mission drives the way we approach clinical trials. #WorldCancerDay #CloseTheCareGap
