Came across this interesting ad when I was scrolling through an article. In writing, it’s called a turn of phrase when you take a well-worn cliché or saying and do something fresh with it. KitKat creatively put a twist on their classic phrase, "Gimme a break, break me off a piece of that KitKat bar," by literally putting a hole in their own billboard. This innovative streetside OOH (out-of-home) ad features a hole where the word ‘break’ would normally be, with a relaxing hammock inserted instead. Initially, this might seem odd or out of place, but it quickly becomes clear how brilliant it is. This clever marketing move immerses the audience in the product while reminding them of the familiar phrase that has become part of the cultural lexicon. #classic #kitkat #marketing #ooh #advertising #agential

I ❤️ Great Ads Caught this one out of the corner of my eye riding to work yesterday on #americarecyclesday! It delivered everything a great static ad needs to: ✅ Stopping power to capture attention ✅ Strong branding and visual association cues ✅ Simple message that can be digested in seconds or less Well done, The Coca-Cola Company both for the #sustainability initiatives and for the ad! Coincidentally another marketing great, Tom Fishburne shared a cartoon and blog this week titled, "Break through the clutter". The cartoon illustration showed an ad layout that looks remarkably similar to the Coke ad. It's a pretty classic formula, but I think this shows that classic does not necessarily mean dull, and it can break through the clutter when executed correctly. While this was an OOH execution, I think I will start using this as an example of what good social in-feed creative should look like. That environment requires even more stopping power and the ability to capture attention in fractions of a second. #branding #OOH #socialmediamarketing #attention
