White Label Expo a flop? 🙈 Some Arthy team members had the opportunity to join the White Label Expo as guests, and it was an insightful experience! 💼 This time, the event had fewer attendees than usual, and unfortunately, some highly anticipated presentations had to be canceled. 📉 However, we choose to view this from a positive perspective. The smaller crowd provided us with the time and space for more profound discussions and meaningful connections. Quality over quantity, right? 🗣️🔍 Were you also at the White Label Expo this time? How did you find it? Share your thoughts! 💬 We're eagerly looking forward to the upcoming events in our industry. Let's stay at the forefront of eCommerce innovation, one connection at a time. 💡🌐 #WhiteLabelExpo #Networking #QualityOverQuantity #IndustryInsights #Innovation #Connections #eCommerce #AmazonSeller #Amazonfba #Arthy

Retail conventions and trade shows are essentially the party of the year for industry insiders, where business cards are traded like Pokémon cards and coffee is consumed in quantities that would impress even the hardiest barista. On a serious note, these gatherings are networking goldmines; it's where you might meet your next business partner or just someone who equally dislikes long queues at the coffee stand. They're the catwalks of the retail world, showcasing everything from groundbreaking gadgets to the latest in eco-friendly packaging—so you can stay on trend without trying too hard. Not to mention, they’re a prime spot for unveiling new products. Imagine the oohs and aahs as you reveal your latest creation, slightly overshadowed by the freebies at the next booth. There's also a slew of talks and workshops where industry gurus spill their secrets, usually in exchange for just your email and eternal soul. And, let’s not forget, it’s a perfect chance to spy on your competitors without needing binoculars. So, pack your best pitch and a comfy pair of shoes; it’s time to mingle, learn, and maybe even have a little fun at IMAGES Group's Phygital Retail Convention 2024. Fynd (Shopsense Retail Technologies Ltd.) in partnership with IMAGES Group & Strategy& are rolling 2024 edition of India Phygital Report. Hit anyone of us at Fynd (Shopsense Retail Technologies Ltd.) if you are visiting or planning to visit! Farooq Adam Ragini Varma Sriram Ramakrishnan

What will your Marketplace Event year look like? Do you already know where you'll be in 2024? My plans are set - at least for now. Anyone who knows me also knows that I like to go somewhere spontaneously 😉. And my marketplace event year starts at the end of February with the E-Commerce Berlin EXPO. Why? Because it´s the only bigger event before April and many people I know will be there. Why are you going? My event year will continue after that, of course. You can meet me here this year: 🗓️ Foxcon, Mainz 🗓️ Score!, Zurich 🗓️ ECD, Munich 🗓️ K5 - Future Retail Conference 🗓️ Marketplace Convention, Cologne 🤝 Who will be in Berlin in February? Let me know and I'd love to meet you there? 👉 Need some help planning your event? Friendly reminder: Expo West is really expensive. We’re at $28k in so far… and that’s using points for flights! Add in sampling, meals, etc. and we’ll be well over $30k in expenses. This is all for a 10x20ft booth, which is just one step up from the smallest booth you can get. Retail merchants… if you sense a supplier selling really hard to you, even to the point of annoyance, give them some grace. They likely are thinking about the ROI they need to hit to pay these bills. For most suppliers with booths, the main goal is to win brick & mortar distribution. Assuming a supplier makes 10-20% of retail sales as gross margin, before paying for overhead and marketing and everything else, that’s a lot of product small suppliers need to sell from this show. Business service providers… I know Expo West is awesome because you have a captive audience of brands that can’t leave their booth. They are literally held hostage in that sense and can’t easily get out of conversations. Please be respectful of them. Feel free to introduce your service to them, but don’t hog their time. The brand is there primarily to win distribution, not buy business services. And the time you spend pitching them could potentially cause them to miss their chance with a retail merchant. Thankfully, Cheers is well past NEEDING distribution as we have a very profitable eCommerce business and will be in 25,000 retail locations by the end of this year. So we don’t have to stress over every penny of ROI that we need to get from this show to make it worth it. Though, of course, we want to! However, I can totally emphasize with the stress that many brands face when it comes to big trade show expenses like this. With this in mind, let’s all give each other support, grace, and love as we collectively work to bring new, innovative, healthier-for-you products to the American consumer! Brands, retailers, brokers, business service providers, etc… we’re all on the same team here. We would all be better people to remember that this week. 🍻

❤️ the transparency in this post. I love (seriously, love) a tradeshow more than anyone, but the 💲💲💲 can be overwhelming. This CEO's honest account is appreciated. Keep in mind the opportunity cost of the time spent to prep, follow-up with leads, and clean-up the dropped balls while standing on that cement floor are not included. I often have mentorship conversations about D2C vs Retail and I believe these tradeshows can be a fast pass. I also know that it's not as simple as it seems. Whether you land boutique retailers or large national chains, know the dangers and know the costs. I love an open and honest founder. Thank you Brooks Powell 🍻 and land those deals! #d2c #tradeshows #brandbuilding

The Great Trade Show Debate: Are They Worth It? Trade shows have long been a staple in the business world, but are they really worth the time and effort? And if so, which ones should we prioritize? Industry Shows These events are filled with our industry peers. Catching up with old friends, discussing market trends, and learning about new innovations and product launches can be exhilarating. But after the excitement fades, we must ask ourselves: Was it truly productive to leave the office? Merchants Trade Shows Attending is just the beginning. Exhibitors are in full selling mode, and the right person must be at the stand to make conversations worthwhile. Interacting with retailers and traders is crucial, but simply handing out leaflets or stopping people in the aisles is frowned upon by organizers. Taking a booth makes you official. You can distribute literature, showcase your USP, and demonstrate your commitment to the industry. However, merchants are focused on buying. Are they looking for payment solutions or other allied products? Are the decision-makers present, or just the buying team? At Smarta Payments, we see our US clients attending different conferences and events almost weekly, while in Europe, the approach is more selective. Whenever you speak to someone who has attended a show, they always rave about how great it was. But are they being truthful, or just justifying the investment? We’d love to hear your thoughts. If you’re a retailer or merchant, how do you view service and tech vendors at these shows? And if you’re a service or tech vendor, how do you decide which shows to attend? Your insights are greatly valued. #payments #merchantservices #TradeShows #IndustryEvents #MarketTrends #SalesStrategies #ConferenceInsights #RetailInsights #TradeShowDebate #EventStrategy #BusinessEvents

Online platforms like FAIRE are a new way of doing business says Karen Alweil at Karen Alweil Studio and I welcome the competition. They’ve pushed us to improve our marketing and relationship-building, and our business has grown. However, trade shows are still crucial. The face-to-face connections we make at these events are invaluable. The stores that benefit the most are those that attend trade shows and use online platforms together.
