- [Narrator] Now we'll turn to the body of the email, and how to make sure that it accomplishes your goal, whether that is delivering information, requesting action or anything in between. We've seen how a good subject line improves the chances of your email being opened and how the greeting and opening sentence set the tone and encourage the recipient to read on. But in the end, we send emails with an objective in mind and the body of the email is how we achieve that objective. There are a few things more frustrating than writing a message and expecting a quick response but getting nothing. While there may be other reasons, that the recipient does not respond from being too busy to simply not seeing the message, it could be that the message itself was the problem. Emails that are too long or unclear run the risk of being ignored by their recipients. Perhaps the recipient is not sure what is expected of him or her and therefore delays responding.
