In 2023, women-founded #startups in Europe raised just 1.8% of the total capital invested in venture-backed startups - a figure that’s only slightly higher in the US at 2%, according to the World Economic Forum. Although I really hope that one day the industry finds a way to overcome its similarity bias, the reality today is typically that diverse founders have to adjust to the industry bias. Once again, I realized that good preparation is the foundation of great results! One of our portfolio companies is currently raising a Series A round. What did we do? We prepared correctly! Specifically: 1. We built a database of investors. This included everyone who reached out, showed interest at the demo day, and funds that current company investors could introduce. 2. We compiled an invest memo. It's extensive and as detailed as possible. (By the way, give a reaction, if you're interested in knowing more about what's in this document - I might make a separate post about it). 3. We prepared an Excel file with all the calculations, cohorts, actual data, and forecasts. This took about 2 weeks. Next: 4. We set a start date for the Series A raise. On this day, we sent all investors: - a message about the start of the process, - attached the dataroom (a folder with all the data for the round), - and mentioned that we plan to close the Series A raise in 4 weeks. The result was not long in coming - many openly said they had never seen such a level of preparation and detail, and they had no questions! We received the first Term Sheet exactly 2 weeks later. I hope the process concludes soon, the round becomes public, and I can tell you more about this case.

Why I Support Real Madrid: A Reflection on Values, Resilience, and Unwavering Team Goals As fans, we often find it challenging to articulate why we support our respective teams. For me, my allegiance lies with Real Madrid, not just for its historical significance or the brand it represents, but for deeper reasons that resonate with both sports and business worlds.
