Last week, we participated in the 20th EAWE PhD Seminar, held in Visby, Sweden, and organised by the European Academy of Wind Energy. 🌬 Two of our PhD researchers part of the MSCA-ADOreD project attended the event: ➡ Mario Alejandro Useche Arteaga presented some results from his research on the concept of energy islands for the optimal integration of offshore wind energy, energy storage, and green hydrogen production. ➡ Bernardo Castro Valerio also had the chance to present his work on an "Analysis of HVDC Interconnectors in the North Sea Grid for Offshore Wind Integration." Last week we participated in the WindEnergy Hamburg 2024 conference, where we had the opportunity to engage with global leaders and pioneers in renewable energy, as well as several of our clients, to discuss the latest developments and innovations in the #offshorewind sector. 🌬 The event was charged with big things like the more than 30 meetings in which our team took time to showcase the latest features of Pixel , an all-in-one solution designed to streamline wind project optimisation. Exciting news from Spain 🇪🇸 🚀 The Spanish Government has just approved a new #framework to regulate #offshorewind and marine renewable energy projects. The main goal is to maximise the positive externalities while minimising the environmental impact of the projects. The framework aims to develop these installations in a participatory and flexible way, ensuring that job creation, industrial growth, and environmental protection are maximised. 👷♂️ 👷♀️ The framework also ensures that these projects will only be developed in High Potential Areas (ZAPER) through competitive tenders, with a large emphasis on effective dialogue between the project developers and any sector being affected by the installation. 🤝 With a goal of reaching 3 GW of offshore wind by 2030, #Spain is solidifying its stance on renewable energy generation. This initiative could also create 40,000 new jobs and drive significant economic growth in coastal regions. 📈 👥 You can now add all the offshore wind areas selected in Spain and start developing them inside the #Youwind platform.
