Our teacher, Rita Raud, has published an academic research in collaboration with Marie Beresford-Dey, PhD, exploring the cultivation of primary-student leadership (PSL) and the key characteristics and skills essential for its enhancement. In this qualitative study conducted at an international school in Eastern Europe, they delved into the perspectives of school leaders and teachers on PSL. Their findings underscore the importance of encouraging leadership skills in our students from the early stages of education. Congratulations to our teacher, Rita Raud, and her colleague, Marie Beresford-Dey, PhD!

We are proud to announce that our 6th IBDP Cohort has once again achieved excellent results! 56 students who took the exams this year have attained an impressive average score of 34, equivalent to 8.3 out of 10 in the Spanish system. This makes them the largest cohort in the history of St PETER'S. A special shoutout to Xuan Jin, who earned the highest score of 43 out of 45 points. Congratulations to all, and best of luck for the future!

Every school year ends with a showcase of what we've achieved, and at St PETER'S, we're proud to present 'Solum,' the latest psychological thriller crafted by our Year 10 filming students under the direction of our teacher, Jose Antonio Merín. This short film explores pressing educational issues, standing alongside other remarkable art projects completed this year. 'Solum' exemplifies how we integrate the arts into our curriculum at St PETER'S. Read more on: https://lnkd.in/dWNVs3gT

Thanks to Barcelona Metropolitan for sharing this article written by our Head of Education, Lourdes Barceló Mestre, reflecting on our excellent PISA test results.
The students at #MetropolitanPartner St PETER'S SCHOOL have achieved outstanding results in PISA tests, positioning it among the premier schools in Spain and globally! St PETER’S curriculum content, coupled with a methodology grounded in critical thinking, fosters the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies across all learning domains. At St PETER’S, they aren’t particularly fond of exams or grades determined solely through testing. They believe that with sufficiently personalized education, engaging syllabus and a positive school environment, students learn and derive enjoyment from the process. For them, student assessment is holistic, focusing not only on academic accomplishments but also on personal development and all the extracurricular learning included in the educational framework. Congratulations to the students who have achieved these remarkable results, and to the teachers who have adeptly guided them on the path to success!

Today, we're thrilled to host around 100 IB teachers from all educational stages for professional development courses at our school. In collaboration with ASIBI - Asociación Ibérica de Colegios del Bachillerato Internacional, these courses are designed to benefit the entire IB teaching community, from the Primary Years Programme to the Diploma Programme. Our training sessions are fundamental for equipping educators with the skills they need to excel in various IB programmes. This time, we've welcomed courses in Biology and Theory of Knowledge for the Diploma Programme, Language and Literature, and Individuals and Societies for the Middle Years Programme. Finally, in the Primary Years Programme, we've offered courses on The Role of Mathematics and Leadership in Learning. Thanks to ASIBI - Asociación Ibérica de Colegios del Bachillerato Internacional and all our #IBnetwork for making these courses a reality and, once again, helping share teachers' best practices among the IB community. An inspiring project that combines #FuturesLiteracy and #DesignThinking, in which Y8 students explored possible solutions for today and tomorrow's word.
My year 8 students this week engaged in participatory & interdisciplinary learning with this years St PETER'S SCHOOL Design X Futures Thinking Challenge 2024 where they: ▫️conducted human-centred design through empathy driven research ▫️explored various strategic foresight - futures tools and frameworks ▫️focused on sustainable, future-oriented design ▫️built-hands-on prototype Thank you Pilar Blázquez Ceballos Teach the Future for collaborating in this year’s event. #futuresliteracy #designthinking #ibeduction

Three years ago, our Year 6 students participated for the first time in an Interdisciplinary Unit on Artificial Intelligence. Since then, this technology and its implications for our world have changed exponentially. This year, our young learners again engaged in new transdisciplinary research, applying the skills they developed during their PYP years. The world has evolved, and so have they and their teachers. Once again, thought-provoking dilemmas were on the table. AI is here to stay, but it is not here to control humanity. Read more on: https://lnkd.in/dM6niGtR #EducateInAI #EducateAi Joan M. Every year, our students, guided by their Design teachers, surprise us by going #AStepBeyond in their projects. This time, in cooperation with Y4 students, our Y10 space engineers are developing Cubesats equipped with a Raspberry Pi, a camera, and a BMP280 sensor to measure atmospheric pressure, temperature, and altitude changes. In this first step, our Year 4 students calculated the necessary helium for liftoff. We couldn't be prouder of everyone involved!
🌟 Sky's Not the Limit: Our Students' Journey to the Edge of Near Space! 🌌 What a remarkable day for our future space engineers! Our Year 10 students have truly outdone themselves, developing Cubesats equipped with a Raspberry Pi, a camera, and a BMP280 sensor to measure atmospheric pressure, temperature, and altitude changes. Swipe to see the joy and determination as our Year 4 students calculated the necessary helium for liftoff. Their contributions were crucial in fine-tuning our retrieval system, ensuring a safe flight over Barcelona's skies. 🎈 Key Highlights: Hands-On Experience: Students taking the lead in a real-world engineering challenge. Tech Specs: A peek into the technology onboard - Raspberry Pi, sensors, and more. Collaboration: An inspiring collaboration between our young innovators, learning and growing together. Mission Goal: This test is a stepping stone to our next grand venture - sending a High Altitude Balloon with the cubesats into the stratosphere! Data: 224 meters (Highest Altitude) , 1009.13 Hpa (Lowest pressure) & 18.4 ºC ( Lowest temperature ) #STEMEducation #FutureEngineers #Cubesat #StPetersSpaceProgramme #Innovation #StPetersbcn Sara Sabljak

This past weekend, St PETER'S School proudly hosted the 7th edition of the Singularity Model United Nations Conference. Over 180 students from sixteen international and bilingual schools across Spain gathered to transform into UN delegates, debating crucial global issues with a focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to meet the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. The intense three-day conference not only highlighted the potential of AI in fostering sustainable development but also provided our students with a unique platform to enhance their diplomatic skills through in-depth research, public speaking, and consensus-building in a real-world setting. A special thanks to the eight chairs from the University Student UNSA Barcelona, for their support, dedication, and the invaluable experience they shared with our delegates.
