Sotomun, a Model United Nations simulation, took place on Wednesday, 19th June, after months of planning. Organized by students, Isabella and Harry from D1 served as Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General. M5 and D1 students acted as chairs for committee debates. The opening ceremony featured two guest speakers and a music performance by Savannah. About 30 students from M3 to D1 represented various nations in the WHO, UNESCO, and ECOSOC committees. Delegates delivered opening speeches, followed by a 30-minute unmoderated caucus to draft resolution clauses. Intense debates ensued, with discussions, amendments, and voting on these clauses. The afternoon included a crisis event prepared by the committee chairs. The closing ceremony awarded certificates to the best delegates and honorable mentions. Special thanks went to the chairs: Luca, Valeria, Taveon, Neele, Lily, and Chaeyeon Son, as well as the guest speakers and all participating delegates. The event was highly successful, with hopes for it to become an annual tradition. 🇺🇳🇪🇺🗣️ Sotomun, una simulación del Modelo de Naciones Unidas, tuvo lugar el miércoles 19 de junio, tras meses de planificación. Organizado por alumnos, Isabella y Harry, de D1, actuaron como Secretaría General y Vicesecretaria General. Los alumnos de M5 y D1 actuaron como Presidentes de los debates de los comités. La ceremonia de apertura contó con dos oradores invitados y una actuación musical de Savannah. Unos 30 alumnos de M3 a D1 representaron a varias naciones en los comités de la OMS, la UNESCO y el ECOSOC. Los delegados pronunciaron sus discursos de apertura, seguidos de un cónclave no moderado de 30 minutos para redactar las cláusulas de las resoluciones. A continuación se desarrollaron intensos debates, con discusiones, enmiendas y votaciones sobre estas cláusulas. Por la tarde se celebró un acto de crisis preparado por los Presidentes de los comités. En la ceremonia de clausura se entregaron certificados a los mejores delegados y menciones honoríficas.
