Exciting Collaboration Announcement! 🤝🌍💫 We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Orbital Paradigm, a young and innovative company. 🎇 They are developing a small reentry vehicle, KESTREL 🛰, designed to provide microgravity and return from space to Earth at high cadence to solve the bottleneck in the in-space industry supply chain. Kestrel is an innovative vehicle capable of carrying up to 120kg to Low Earth Orbit. It features a unique software-centric, high-autonomy design that ensures low-acceleration flight, high-accuracy landing, and incorporates a proprietary reusable ceramic heatshield. We are proud to announce that Kestrel will be flying the SOLAR MEMS nanoST on the platform. This collaboration provides an excellent opportunity for both companies to advance space exploration technology and demonstrate the capabilities of their innovative solutions. By integrating as nominal ST our state-of-the-art nanoST with Kestrel, we aim to enhance the precision and reliability of navigation in space missions. 🚨 Increasing GNSS Jamming and Spoofing Threats 🌐 Jamming and spoofing attacks on GPS and other global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are escalating with geopolitical crises, creating significant challenges and risks for aviation, shipping, and other critical services worldwide. ⚠️ GPS: An Outdated System Despite being the world's oldest satellite navigation system, GPS is lagging in security and resilience. It is now outmatched by China’s BeiDou and Europe’s Galileo, which feature advanced anti-jamming and spoofing technologies. 🔄 Slow Progress on GPS Upgrades GPS 3: Years behind schedule. GPS 3F: At least a decade away. NTS-3: Repeated delays, with the first test satellite hoping to launch this year. 🛫 Real-World Impacts GNSS interference disrupts airline operations, causing costly delays and safety risks for GPS-reliant airports. 📈 Need for Speed in Innovation Accelerating the development of secure, resilient navigation systems is essential to counter these growing threats. Like for example alternatives such as IMU, Celestial Navigation Systems (which include sun sensors and star trackers), Magnetic & Anomaly aided navigation systems, Ring laser and Fiber optic gyroscopes... What were your first impressions when you started at SOLAR MEMS and took on the role of Clean Room Supervisor? 💡 My first impressions at SOLAR MEMS were very positive. The work environment and the warm welcome were exceptional. SOLAR MEMS has incredible human value, with each new member adding to it. The company's growth was a key factor in my decision to join, and with over 12 years of experience in this role, I felt confident in my choice. 2. How do you manage material control, production, and traceability in the clean room to ensure process control and optimization? 💡 To manage material control, production, and traceability, it’s crucial to understand the tasks and address problems with appropriate solutions. Valuing the team and ensuring they feel part of the process is essential. We organize materials, workstations, and production through P/N and S/N. Implementing the 5S methodology has been fundamental, and everyone has adapted excellently. We consistently use quality standards to supervise and ensure protocol compliance, fostering consistent production and product quality.

NEWS BOARD☀️🚀✨ The European Space Agency (ESA) has awarded Airbus Defence and Space a €340 million contract to build the Vigil spacecraft, designed to offer a unique view of the sun. Scheduled to launch in 2031, Vigil will operate at the Earth-sun L-5 Lagrange point, providing early warnings of solar activity up to five days in advance. "Vigil will drastically improve both the lead time and detail of space weather warnings, protecting critical infrastructure." has stated the ESAs general director Josef Aschbacher Key Points 💡 The Mission. ⚡️ As it helps observation of solar regions before they rotate into the Earth's view, improving space weather predictions.
