🎉 The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm is officially up and running in France! This is an important milestone for our company as we expand into the French market and contribute to the global effort for clean energy and climate protection. Some insights from the Saint Brieuc wind farm: ✔️ 62 SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbines, the most powerful in France. ✔️ With an installed capacity of 496 MW. ✔️ It is one of the largest offshore wind farms in France. ✔️ Saint Brieuc will produce the equivalent of the electricity consumption of 835,000 people. Congratulations to Iberdrola Renewables and the whole team! More than 150 European companies were involved in the construction of the wind farm, creating more than 1,700 jobs. This project not only contributes to Europe's energy security and climate goals, but also plays a key role in the industrial revitalization off the region. #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition

Did you know? There are now 41 Siemens Gamesa offshore wind turbines in the North Sea off the west coast of Denmark, generating 344 MW of power for 350,000 households. ▶️ Watch Helene Biström, Head of Offshore of Vattenfall, as she elaborates on the prospects for offshore wind and Torben Bang, Managing Director of Siemens Gamesa Denmark, on why public-private collaboration is critical for the green energy transition across Europe. Future outlook for Denmark in offshore wind is a 6GW tender and the next offshore project is Thor delivering 1GW of power. Ambitious targets to ensure the energy transition, while focusing on the need for sustainable solutions, as Magnus Heunicke, the Danish Minister of the Environment, highlighted during the inauguration. 👏 Congratulations to everyone involved over the years in securing Vesterhav, a milestone for offshore wind power in the #NorthSea. #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition

🌟 The winners of the Universities for Goal 13 competition 2024 are the students of Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) for their groundbreaking project, "OG20W: Recommissioning Oil & Gas Platforms to Offshore Wind Energy." Let's give a round of applause to the entire team for their outstanding achievement! 👏🎉 This competition, hosted alongside the Sustainable Development Solutions Network has been designed to showcase the ingenuity of young talents in the global battle against climate change, with a specific focus on advancing the energy transition. 🌍 The winning project aims to illustrate the economic benefits of investing in sustainable initiatives by bridging the gap between traditional and new energy solutions. It has an interactive platform that allows users to select the offshore oil and gas rigs best positioned to be converted into offshore wind energy hubs, thus saving billions of dollars in future decommissioning costs. The tool provides decision-makers with critical information on the feasibility of reusing oil and gas infrastructure by collecting comprehensive data on the wind potential of locations and detailed information on active platforms, including operating time, installation depth, structure type and CO2 emissions associated with oil or natural gas production. 💡 We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the participants for the exceptional quality of their proposals, as well as the invaluable guidance provided by our mentors, whose expertise has undoubtedly contributed to the success of this remarkable event. #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition 📷 María Cortés Puch, Vice President of Networks Program, SDSN; Jeffrey Sachs, President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), Co-Chair of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition; and Maximilian Schnippering, Head of Sustainability of Siemens Gamesa.

What a day at our plant in Cuxhaven! We are honored to welcome the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Lower Saxony’s Prime Minister Stephan Weil. Their visit provides a unique opportunity to showcase the impressive production process behind our cutting-edge offshore wind turbines. 📅 Since 2017, we have been manufacturing offshore nacelles in Cuxhaven, directly at the North Sea shore for projects all around the globe. 👷🏻♀️ More than 1.000 colleagues work on an area around of 55.000 square meters. ⚙️ 2023 marked the production of our 1,000th nacelle. 🔧 Our current platform has a power rating of up to 15 MW. A single spin of the rotor suffices to provide a household with clean energy for three days. 📈 In the coming years up to €135 million will be invested in Cuxhaven including €27 million in public funding. This shows our commitment to building a resilient and competitive European footprint to deliver ambitious climate targets. Guided by Vinod Philip, Executive Board Member of Siemens Energy, EVP Wind Power; Martin Gerhardt, Managing Director of Siemens Gamesa Germany, and Kristoffer Mordhorst, Head of the Cuxhaven plant, the President met many dedicated colleagues and learned how to properly tighten the screws holding the generator. It's a privilege to share our passion for sustainability! #WindEnergy #TeamPurple #Innovation
