🌊 Korea Floating Wind, sailing toward success! We’re excited to announce the successful completion the geotechnical survey for the first phase of our 1,125MW #FloatingOffshoreWind project, a collaboration between OW Ocean Winds and Mainstream Renewable Power!⚡ The East Blue Power site – the geotechnical survey for the first phase of its project with 375MW of capacity – marks a major #milestone in our journey to deliver clean energy to Ulsan, South Korea. Over the past month, the Geo Mariner vessel 🚢 gathered essential data to guide turbine placement, floating foundation design, and cable routing for this groundbreaking project. 🌱 With the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval secured earlier this month, we are proud to have collaborated hand-in-hand with local fisheries, ensuring full compliance with environmental standards and, most importantly, achieving zero accidents in alignment with our commitment to #SafetyFirst! 🦺 ✅ With these two critical checks ticked, we can incorporate insights on technology, environment, and safety into our business plan as we continue to develop a sustainable #FloatingOffshoreWind farm. A huge shoutout to our amazing team for driving innovation in renewable energy. Onward to the next phase! 🌍💪 Learn more! 👉 https://lnkd.in/diAjb3fH #ProudtobeOW #RenewableEnergy

Sobre nosotros
Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. Based on our belief that offshore wind energy is an essential part of the global energy transition, we develop, finance, build and operate offshore wind farm projects all around the world. When EDP and ENGIE combined their offshore wind assets and project pipeline to create OW in 2019, the company had a total of 1.5 GW under construction and 4.0 GW under development; OW has been adding rapidly to that portfolio and is now on a trajectory to reach the 2025 target of 5 to 7 GW of projects in operation, or construction, and 5 to 10 GW under advanced development. In 2024, OW’s offshore wind gross capacity already operating, contracted or with grid connection rights granted reaches more than 18 GW. OW, headquartered in Madrid, is currently present in 8 countries, and primarily targets markets in Europe, the United-States, selected parts of Asia and Brazil. Today OW has a global presence, integrating diverse people all over the world. We value and promote this diversity as a factor creating value and innovation. We recognize that multiplying differences is to go further, to bring together points of view and ways of seeing the world, to integrate all aspects, to be consciously inclusive, particularly by means of profiles, paths and experiences that bring value and enable us to do what we have to do best. We foster diversity and inclusion by ensuring equal opportunities as an employer, which we also encourage in our suppliers. LET’S COWRITE THE FUTURE OF ENERGY TOGETHER!

🌬️ Spanish government propels the future of #OffshoreWind forward! Yesterday, we hosted a press visit to our iconic #WindFloatAtlantic project with Spanish reporters, with presentations from José Pinheiro, our Country manager for Southern Europe, and Manuel Fernández García del Campo, our Development Director for Spain. During this visit, we received incredible news—the Gobierno de España has approved a Royal Decree to regulate #OffshoreWind development! 🚀 This model is centred on competitive tenders, using a “three-in-one” approach for awarding key elements: ➡ The support mechanism – Contract for Difference (CfD) ➡ The right to access the grid ➡ The right to obtain the maritime concession (seabed lease) This is a game-changer, not just for #Spain but for the global energy landscape. It's the energy transition evolving from a vision to a legacy in the making—a tangible future we’re building together, today! 🌍⚡ But that’s not all! Make sure to tune in to hear our very own Manuel Fernández García del Campo share the OW Ocean Winds perspective on the implications of the decree at the #CongresoEolicoMarino organized by Asociación Empresarial Eólica (AEE) in Cádiz on November 7-8th! Dive into the details of this exciting new development in Spain’s regulatory environment: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/djWZHmQT We were also thrilled to have our partner in the Canary Islands, Grupo DISA, join us during the visit. Yesterday, Principle Power announced a new step forward in the floating offshore wind industry, as they unveiled two new semisubmersible floating wind foundation designs, capable of supporting turbines of 15MW per unit! At OW Ocean Winds, we have a long-standing history with Principle Power, not only as stakeholders of the company, but also selecting the WindFloat design for our #WindFloatAtlantic operating project in Portugal, as well as our EFGL project currently under construction. Our French pilot project will indeed be installing the biggest turbine ever on a floater (with 10 MW /unit turbines)! At OW, and as pioneer in floating offshore wind, we are following closely Principle Power's floating platform developments and keep on monitoring any new technologies that can make our projects more efficient! #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind #FloatingWind #CleanEnergy
🎉Today, Principle Power unveils two new center column designs: WindFloat TC (tubular, center column) and the WindFloat FC (flat panel, center column). The new center column designs complement our existing perimeter column designs, WindFloat T and WindFloat F and share the same 4th generation design heritage and benefits: ⚡ Smart Hull Trim system to maximize annual energy production and reduce loads ⭐ Fatigue-resilient architecture optimized for large wind turbines 🎯 Compact footprint and shallow wind turbine integration draft for maximum compatibility with infrastructure 🧱 Modular “block” subcomponent philosophy for high flexibility and compatibility with existing supply chains Julian Arrillaga Costa, Chief Executive Officer said: “The outlook for floating wind is strong and as the market enters a ‘commercial’ era, wind turbine suppliers are now thinking about how to position their products for maximum standardization across the floating pipeline. With this in mind, we’ve developed WindFloat® center column designs that are optimized for 15MW turbines with stiffer towers.” “By expanding the WindFloat® portfolio with these designs, we’re demonstrating how we can apply our proven expertise in floating wind with our known and de-risked technical features to achieve center column geometries that are bankable and immediately ready for commercial scale projects.” The full WindFloat product portfolio, now consisting of the WindFloat T, WindFloat F, WindFloat TC, and WindFloat FC offers developers industrialized, FEED-ready solutions for floating wind projects anywhere in the world. 📆 Eventful start of the month for #Australia! And more specifically in the #Gippsland region, that is at the heart of the development plans of our 1.3 GW High Sea Wind project! First, we exchanged over dinner with the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) sharing their unique culture and aspiration and discussing the new Pathway to Partnership document, including other developers. We look forward to continuing our journey together as we work toward partnership! 🤝 Then, we proudly participated in and sponsored the Gippsland New Energy Conference #GNEC24, organized by the Gippsland Climate Change Network Inc. This event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with the local actors who are greatly involved in making #offshorewind a reality for both the region and the country. We were also honoured by the presence of the Hon. Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy, who highlighted the importance of offshore wind and its potential opportunities for the nation. Shout out to our OW team; Catarina Rei, Permitting and Environmental Director, for her participation in the panel “Developing and Environmental Effects Statement for Offshore Wind”; and to Pelayo Rodríguez Alonso, Head of Business Development APAC, for his contribution on the panel “International Lessons in Offshore Wind for Gippsland”. Last but not least, we were very proud to participate in the launch of the Gippsland Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA), a key step towards accelerating offshore wind development! 🌬 And to think we were awarded less than 6 months ago! So much more to come! 🙌 With strong engagement with local communities and the Australian government, we're ready to power a greener future in the country! #ProudToBeOW #RenewableEnergy
