The partners of the #NEUTRALPATH_eu project gathered in Istanbul for the 3rd Periodic Meeting. Over two and a half days, they participated in workshops, planning sessions, and community engagement activities to further their goals for #climateneutrality. Key workshops focused on topics such as tracking greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, integrating Positive and Clean Energy Districts (PCEDs), and refining the roadmaps for Climate Neutral Labs (CN-Labs). 💡[UPCOMING WEBINAR] 💡 The two EU projects NEUTRALPATH project and CLIMABOROUGH, funded under the Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission, organize together a first webinar to bring together 19 cities across Europe. This session will and the participation of Urban Transitions Mission Centre (UTMC). The webinar will discuss how #Energy #poverty is a critical issue affecting millions of households, leading to significant social and economic challenges. 🔋𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆? While financial measures are necessary in addressing energy poverty, there is a need for behavioural change strategies, rooted in the social context. Today, at the NEUTRALPATH project event, we shared some of the initial #results of the consultation on public authorities' #attitudes to #innovative #financing instruments. We are digging deeper into what limits possibilities cities have to reduce #dependence on traditional #subsidies, especially as national and EU-level funding falls short of covering the #financial #gaps of the massive transformation that needs to happen over the next few years. But despite the interest, uncertainty remains, with many cities facing significant #legislative and #regulatory barriers, which has led to continued reliance on subsidies.
