We are thrilled to announce that the AGENCIA ESPAÑOLA DE COOPERACION INTERNACIONAL PARA EL DESARROLLO - AECID, through its Fondo para la Promoción del Desarrollo (FONPRODE), with the support of COFIDES as a financial advisor, has approved an investment of €25 million in the management firm Mundi Ventures, to be allocated to insurtech startups and in adjacent sectors that have an impact on the improvement and digitalisation of the insurance industry. This operation will also result in the continued internationalisation of Mundi Ventures, which currently invests across Europe, the United States, Asia, and Latin America. Mundi Ventures has backed over 60 companies in total, and in Latin America, where the support of the Cooperación Española is focused, Mundi Ventures notable investments include Betterfly, which now covers over one million lives with life insurance through a wellness platform, Olé life, focused on the life insurance market, Raincoat focused on insurance products for climate resilience, and Sami, which provides technologically-supported health insurance aimed at populations not yet covered by other insurance products. We're thrilled to announce that the European Investment Fund (EIF) has committed €350 million to Kembara Fund I, a €1 billion Deep Tech and climate-focused fund managed by Mundi Ventures. This marks the first ETCI investment in a Spain-based fund, aiming to scale Europe's leading Deep Tech start-ups. 🔹 Highlights: · Kembara Fund I FCR: €1 billion fund for growth-stage Deep Tech and climate start-ups. · ETCI Initiative: Chosen to scale European tech champions under the European Tech Champions Initiative. · Historic Investment: First ETCI investment in a Spain-based fund. • Impact: ETCI has mobilised €10 billion for European tech champions, significantly contributing to Capital Markets Union. Citibox secures €80 Million to reach 600,000 smart mailboxes 📫   We are thrilled that our portfolio company, CitiBox, has secured this €80 Million in funding, marking one of the largest bond issues ever recorded by a Spanish startup. This funding round was led by the prestigious international funds Growth Credit Partners (London) and CoVenture (New York). Citibox, known for installing smart mailboxes in buildings to streamline e-commerce package deliveries, will use this investment to execute its ambitious expansion plan across Spain. Over the next three years, Citibox aims to expand its network tenfold, reaching a total of 600,000 smart mailboxes. Well done to David Bernabeu Moliner and the team.
