Materials science has made remarkable progress, generating significant impacts in various fields. New materials, including those which offer sustainable solutions, such as technology in batteries, smarts textiles and surgical implant materials, are contributing to cleaner and faster transport. Materials science research also extends to nuclear power, aiming to make progress in the transition towards cleaner energy through technological and scientific developments in this field.  These advances promise to transform the way we interact with technology and address key challenges from water scarcity to sustainable mobility. ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ La ciencia de los materiales ha experimentado avances notables, generando impactos significativos en diversos campos. In November, we attended th Car Body Painting Conference It was held in the city of Bad Nauheim and was organised by the Automotive Circle and our ASPS system pioneering in automated polishing and sanding was presented We attended this event with our partners 3M and Eines Vision Systems. The ASPS is a proof of how the synergy between these three companies has allowed to obtain this revolutionary system designed to provide a new level of automation that guarantees top class quality and efficiency. We share this interesting article on the idea of repainting buildings as a more sustainable way to cool them. Researchers are exploring the old practice of painting buildings as a solution to lower the indoor temperature in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way. This technique can help to reduce the indoor temperature of buildings by almost two degrees. Ford Almussafes plant has received two awards for its technical contribution to manufacturing processes. One has been the so called ASPS “ Automatic Sanding and Polishing Process System” developed at Paint Plant. ASPS is a robotised system that allows automatization of the manual sanding and polishing paint defects process making use of the AI. At Icemi, we all welcome the recognition of the R&D&I work carried out in Valencia ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ Ford premia a su planta de Almussafes con dos premios Henry Ford por sus contribuciones técnicas en los procesos de fabricación. Entre ellos, el denominado ASPS o Sistema Automático de Lijado y Pulido, desarrollado en su planta de pinturas. ASPS es una estación ruborizada que permite la automatización del proceso manual de lijado y pulido de defectos de pintura, utilizando Inteligencia Artificial.
