Canada’s Modern Slavery Act
Canada enacted the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (Canada’s Modern Slavery Act) in 2023. This act requires entities to report annually on their efforts to prevent and reduce the risk of forced labor or child labor being used by them or in their supply chains. The act also prohibits the importation of goods manufactured by forced labor or child labor. Read more here.
Epson issues annual slavery and human trafficking statements that cover Epson’s global scope and adhere to requirements in various jurisdictions such as the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018, and the U.S. California Transparency in Supply Chain Act 2010 (SB 657), and these reports now incorporate Canada’s Modern Slavery Act reporting requirements. These reports address the actions taken by Epson to eradicate forced labor and child labor from our supply chains.
