PM to attend state funeral of No. 1 Vietnamese official
SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Prime Minister Han Duck-soo will visit Vietnam this week to attend the state funeral of the country's highest-ranking official, Nguyen Phu Trong, his office said Tuesday.
Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, died Friday. Han will visit the country Wednesday and Thursday to attend the funeral scheduled to take place Thursday and Friday.
The government decided to send a condolence delegation headed by the prime minister in consideration of the close friendly and cooperative relations between South Korea and Vietnam, which are comprehensive strategic partners, Han's office said.
