[edit]Inherited from Vulgar Latin *tando, a demonstrative form to quandō (“when”) (whence Neapolitan quanno), after the model of Classical Latin quālis ~ tālis, quantus ~ tantus.[1] Compare Sicilian tànnu, Corsican tandu, Sardinian tando, Romanian tând.
