[edit]From Proto-Germanic *klukjaną, from *klu- (“to ball up, conglomerate, amass”), from Proto-Indo-European *glew- (“to ball up; lump, mass”).

- the switchhook on which a telephone handset rests while not in use (at least on older telephones)
