From Latin eunūchus, from Ancient Greek εὐνοῦχος (eunoûkhos, eunuch, castrated animal), εὐνή (eunḗ, bed) ἔχω (ékhō, I have, keep, hold); literally, a chamberlain (see ĉambelano).
