1. (derogatory) The doctrine that the molecules responsible for the chemical processes of life must be constructed primarily from carbon.
2. (derogatory) The doctrine that artificial intelligence cannot possibly be sentient or truly intelligent because its physical substrate is not biological, carbon-based matter.
