Borrowed from Occitan artichaut, arquichaut, from Lombard articioch (cf. articiocco), from Old Spanish alcarchofa, from Andalusian Arabic الْخَرْشُوف (al-ḵaršūf), from Arabic الْخُرْشُوف (al-ḵuršūf).[1][2]
