[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit अर्घ (arghá), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *Hargʰás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hargʰás, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂elgʷʰ-ós, from *h₂elgʷʰ- (“to cost, have value”). Cognate with Maharastri Prakrit 𑀅𑀕𑁆𑀖 (aggha).
