"Latin Moksha"

[edit]

Can you explain, why can't I use acceptable everywhere Latin transliteration in English Wiktionary, citing an authoritative source? Especially that the Cyrillic orthography doesn't reflect the correct spelling of words? Anazarenko (talk) 11:58, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Anazarenko: First of all, who are you to judge what is and isn't "correct" in a language - I've added the commonly accepted spelling as used in dictionaries, books and newspapers; Second of all, if you add a transliteration, then add it as one: {{l|mdf|tr=transliteration}}. Instead you link to it as if it's any accepted form of writing, which it isn't; Stop trying to sneakily push your political agenda into Wiktionary; We are a descriptive dictionary, and there is no place for it here. I base it on the spelling proposed by linguists such as Heikki Paasonen, Edit Mészáros, Niina Aasmäe. Do you consider yourself a greater authority than them? Anazarenko (talk) 13:19, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Anazarenko: Proposed transliterations are not equivalent to established orthographies. Not even to non-established orthographies. They are transliterations, nothing more. Thadh (talk) 19:43, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
