I recently bumped into another meaning of lifestyle - "The lifestyle", referring to swinging - see e.g. http://www.laweekly.com/columns/swinging-the-underground-lifestyle-that-lets-you-f-ck-your-friends-2530165

I'd say that's just sense 1: several subcultures (BDSM being another) talk about "the lifestyle". It's really just a lifestyle, but the implication is that, within the given scene, you know which one they mean. Equinox ◑ 22:45, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
