Further etymology

[edit]

I was a bit curious about the etymology of this word, so I was looking up Italian ciarlare. I found two theories: one is that Italian cialare comes from Spanish chirlar; the other is that it has something to do with Charlemagne. Anybody know a good source of Italian etymologies? –Andyluciano 21:21, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
