Etymology
[edit]From Middle Irish Tadg (whence also Old Norse Taðkr), from the common noun tadg (“poet”),[1] from pre-Goidelic *tazgos, from Proto-Celtic *taskos (“badger”). Cognate with Manx Taig and with Gaulish names like Tasgetius, Tasciovanus, Moritasgus.
