Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (lɔ⁵⁵ shɔ²² "urge / hurry / speed up"). Luce gives Old Chinese (OC *la, *laʔ, *las, “exclamation indicating doubt”) as a cognate for the "interrogative suffix" sense, but doesn't mention the "hurry" sense.[1]
