Etymology

Inherited from Sanskrit लङ्गति (laṅgati) Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-).[1] Related to लंगड़ा (laṅgṛā). Cognate with Gujarati લંગડાવું (laṅgḍāvũ), Punjabi ਲੰਗੜਾਉਣਾ (laṅgṛāuṇā), Marathi लंगडणे (laṅgaḍṇe).
