[edit]From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (kmʾn' /kamān/), from Proto-Iranian *kamān (“arc, vault, bow”), related to Proto-Iranian *kamp- (“to bend”), from Proto-Indo-European *kh₂em- (“to curve, bend”). Compare Northern Luri کںمۆ (kəmø).
