Apparently the most primitive senses are related to striving into a well to get water, which is confirmed by comparative evidence, regard Hebrew נָסַע (nāsaʿ, to pull out, to set out), Aramaic נְסַע (nsaʿ, to remove), Ugaritic 𐎐𐎒𐎓 (nsʿ, to pull out), Akkadian 𒍣 (/⁠nasāḫu⁠/, to pull out), Akkadian 𒁁 (/⁠nēsu⁠/, to remove; to depart), Tigre ነዝዓ (näzʿa, to pull out), Ge'ez ነዝዐ (näzʿä, to pull out), ነዝሐ (näzḥä, to pull out), Old South Arabian 𐩬𐩸𐩲 (nzʿ, to withdraw), and meeting the meaning of the third stem in Arabic Old South Arabian 𐩬𐩸𐩲 (nzʿ, to come to grips; quarrel).
