[edit]Inherited from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (tasūg), from where also borrowed Arabic طَسُّوج (ṭassūj) and Classical Syriac ܛܺܝܣܽܘܓܳܐ (ṭīssūḡā), according to Friedrich Müller a loan of Pali catasso f (“four”).
