[edit]Borrowed from Polish żubr, from Old Polish zubr, borrowed from Old Ruthenian зубръ (zubr) or Old East Slavic *зубръ (*zubrŭ), from Proto-Slavic *zǫbrъ. Doublet of зубръ (zubr).
