[edit]Inherited from Byzantine Greek κατεβάζω (katebázō), with -ε- from κατέβασα (katébasa), past tense of καταβάζω (katabázō), from Ancient Greek καταβιβάζω (katabibázō),[1] from κατα- (kata-) βιβάζω (bibázō).
