Add topicHi there. Thanks for your contributions to Wikivoyage. Please have a look at our Copyleft license. You have been contributing hotel descriptions that are violations of copyright law. You'll save us a lot of deletion work if you'd write your own descriptions of these places, as we cannot allow those copied descriptions to stay. Thanks! (WT-en) Texugo 05:15, 2 October 2007 (EDT)
- Please please please stop doing this. It only a waste of your time and ours because the copied text is just going to get deleted by us over and over and over. (WT-en) Texugo 03:06, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
Useless waffle
[edit]Hello again
As well as reviewing your past edits and looking at what happened to them (see Project:How to handle unwanted edits for a better understanding), may I suggest that you familiarise yourself with the following guidelines. The first three are especially relevant:
- Project:Copyleft - EXTREMELY important! - NEVER copy and paste work from other websites - this INCLUDES hotel descriptions from the website of the hotel, hotel review websites, travel forums, etc - Wikivoyage cannot accept any of this content.
- Project:Tone - NEVER use promotional waffle such as At the Holiday Inn Express Anderson (I-85, Exit 27), South Carolina, you’ll discover an outstanding hotel experience, enhanced by our Clemson University and Anderson University surrounds and exciting getaway packages. ( and ) - this is completely useless and is exactly what Wikivoyage DOES NOT WANT. Leave the description completely blank unless you've actually stayed there and have some useful information to contribute.
- Project:Accommodation listings - NEVER repeat the hotel name - only include it ONCE, right at the beginning.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them here: Project:Travellers' pub
Hope this helps. ~ 202.71.45.37 08:10, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
City/State/Zip in listings
[edit]Please do not add them. See this for proper format (or look at some other listings). Thanks -(WT-en) OldPine 07:47, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
- You persist in ignoring this and several other Wikivoyage conventions. I'm inclined to start reverting your listings in their entirety if you don't comply. (WT-en) OldPine 07:28, 17 June 2008 (EDT)
