[edit]- 1 Bàscara Castle (episcopal castle). The importance of the Bàscara fortification has remained throughout the centuries due to its strategic location on the road from Girona to France. There are three walled enclosures, including the castle. The first mention is from the year 1241, when King James I authorized the bishop of Girona, Guillem de Cabanelles, to erect fortifications in the town of Bàscara. The castle ceased to have a military use and at the end of the Great War and the War of Independence, Marshal Suchet ordered the fortifications to be blown up, which caused the castle to collapse. It is closed to the public and is privately owned.
- 2 Walls of Bàscara. Around the historic core, originating in the 13th century.
- 3 Calabuig Castle (Castell de Calabuig). It was a castle on the highest part of the small urban center of Calabuig (l'Alt Empordà), a town just under 2 km from the town of Bàscara, the municipality to which it belongs. The remains of the old Calabuig castle are integrated into the south wall of the nave of the church of Sant Feliu, built in modern times
- 4 Castell d'Orriols. It is documented for the first time in 1021 when it is mentioned about Temdar d'Urriols, possibly lord of the place and owner of the castle. The current palace owes its shape to the reconstruction that took place in the 16th-18th centuries as a large fortified house, with two guardhouses and loopholes for firearms. Within this period, two constructive moments can be distinguished, between the 16th and 17th centuries which is concentrated on the main west facade, and the 18th century on the east facade. The last use of the castle were two agricultural houses, which means that there are no remains of the original spaces on the first floor
- 5 Parish Church of Sant Iscle. It is mentioned in the year 1020, when the deposition of witnesses in a trial took place there, before the bishop Pere Roger, count Bernat Tallaferro, his son Guillem, judges and prohoms. In 1138 it is mentioned as a parish, under the patronage and patronage of Sant Aciscle. The choir of the church is mentioned for the first time in 1527, although it was rebuilt in 1701. In 1636, a new bell was blessed.
- 6 Church of Sant Feliu de Calabuig. The first document that refers to the parish church of Sant Feliu de Calabuig is the will of Bernat de Calabuig dated 1115. However, the earthquakes that affected the area between 1427 and 1428 completely destroyed the construction. In 1439, Jofre de Rocabertí, lord of the place, asked the bishop for permission to move the temple. In the middle of the 17th century there are reports of the construction of new chapels and altars.
- 7 The Calabuig mill. In medieval times there were flour mills all along the banks of the Fluvià river. In the case of the old Calabuig mill, the facilities were simple but sufficient. With the mechanization of the process, the mill was abandoned and a new one was built that no longer used water energy. Later, other constructions were added and it became a farmhouse.
