Portals
I'm done with my efforts to clean the portals (master list). I started my cleaning efforts with the goal of identifying learning resources that could be featured on the main page. After my review of the contents of the main namespace, I'm thinking that the way to start having featured content on the main page is to feature content development projects.
Main Page
Originally I was thinking along these lines:
- Browse our main subject areas: Education · Engineering and Technology · Interdisciplinary Studies · Humanities · Learning Materials · Learning Projects · Life Sciences · Mathematics · Media · Physical Sciences · Practical Arts and Sciences · Professional Schools · Social Sciences
- Featured content development projects: History · Physics and Astronomy · Chemical Engineering · Literary Studies
The main page now uses:
Browse our schools and subject areas: Humanities · Physical Sciences · Life Sciences · Practical Arts and Sciences · Mathematics · Engineering and Technology · Interdisciplinary Studies · Social Sciences · Education · Media · Professions · Other portals
Featured content
Maybe there should be a list of the seven most visited content development projects from this counter. One item from the list could be included on the main page each day of the week. In January, the top seven content development projects (by page visits) were:
- School:Mathematics - > 100 edits since August 15 2005
- School:Computer Science / Topic:Computer Programming - > 350 edits since August 15 2005
- School:Language and Literature / Topic:Foreign Language Learning - box format - > 250 edits since August 15 2005
- Topic:Master of Business Administration - 100 edits since August 15 2005
- School:Physics and Astronomy - > 50 edits since August 15 2005
- School:Medicine - > 50 edits since August 15 2005
- School:Electronic Engineering - > 50 edits since August 15 2005
