Don't forget to get the journal to send a confirmation of the license to the OTRS queue. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:20, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry, ShakespeareFan00, but if they state that they publish under a compatible license on their journal's homepage, is that not sufficient? HLHJ (talk) 04:07, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- It is , but the additional confirmation is so that there's a record of the license for the long term if the file is moved to Commons, which at times can be somewhat pedantic. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 08:11, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
The file name is also a bit generic. Could we rename it to something with a bit more structure before moving it to Commons? Prefix with journal name and then the volume and issue perhaps? --Xover (talk) 08:43, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- Sure, Xover, I didn't intend to name it that: this was my first use of this upload function. Should I just e-mail the authors and ask them to re-upload it, ShakespeareFan00? In my experience this is a lot easier for all parties, and OTRS is pretty overloaded. HLHJ (talk) 16:10, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- It can be moved locally if needed, no need to worry. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:46, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I have renamed the file to File:Self-righting boat design.pdf and transwiki'ed it to Commons. The index is now also at Index:Self-righting boat design.pdf and all the pages have been moved accordingly. Since this was just a single article I simply picked the name of the article for the file name, but if you intend to proofread all issues of this journal you should put some thought into a sensible naming scheme. Ask at the Scriptorium if you need input or want to check that what you've come up with makes sense. --Xover (talk) 16:44, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Migration of templates
[edit]If you have experience migrating templates and the subtemplates that are invoked, we also need the inflation template migrated. See Portal:Ocey Snead where in the notes section I calculate the current value of money from the past. The template at Wikipedia updates itself every January 1. - I have no such experience. It's news to me that it is complex! But that does look a very complex template. Asking at Wikipedia:Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Templates might get you someone more expert. Sorry, RAN. HLHJ (talk) 00:52, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
