Our Heroes
When the war is over and the carnage done,
Many a mother will have no son;
Many a girl will have no lad
When the boys return, yet we should feel glad.
Glad to think that they beat the foe
And a tyrant's rule they did overthrow,
So that freedom and liberty should always stand
And gleam forever in this our land.
Many a mother will have no son;
Many a girl will have no lad
When the boys return, yet we should feel glad.
Glad to think that they beat the foe
And a tyrant's rule they did overthrow,
So that freedom and liberty should always stand
And gleam forever in this our land.
We will be proud of our noble heroes—
Proud of our men and sons,
Who helped to fight for victory
When the battle it is won.
Proud of our men of valour
Who have shown that they are true blue;
Proud of the lads who have bled and died
For the red, the white, and the blue.
Proud of our men and sons,
Who helped to fight for victory
When the battle it is won.
Proud of our men of valour
Who have shown that they are true blue;
Proud of the lads who have bled and died
For the red, the white, and the blue.
