Request Sicilian translation scn:Cucina catanisa

[edit]

Can't read Sicilian very well, but this article seems to merit translation. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:56, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New categories for Sicilian music

[edit]

After looking at the article Ciaramedda (a Sicilian bagpipe), I realised there were basically no articles for Sicilian music. I created the following categories to fix that (inter-linking them to scn.wiki categories), and would appreciate your help filling them out, either with new articles or by translating Sicilian articles:

Hope this gets folks off to a good start; at least we've expanded the category trees with some basic articles. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:46, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More translation/transfer needed at scn:Catigurìa:Folklori sicilianu

[edit]

Was comparing Category:Sicily to scn:Catigurìa:Sicilia, and realised that there are 31 pages of Sicilian folklore, but no similar category in English. I created Category:Sicilian folklore to start with, but could use help filling it in from scn:Catigurìa:Folklori sicilianu. MatthewVanitas (talk) 06:10, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone willing to help out a new user who's interested in notability in Sicily?

[edit]

I userfied an article for this new editor a couple weeks ago. The user has made some improvements to it, but I know nothing about the topic and am unable to determine if it's suitable for the mainspace (it does still need some work with citations). If anyone has interest in this topic, please take a look at the article User:Italian-royalty/Nobility in Sicily. Thanks! P. D. Cook Talk to me! 22:46, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Passo Martino

[edit]

There is a company which had its headquarters in Passo Martino, Catania. But I cannot find the village's article on the Italian or English wikipedia. Is it a frazione within Catania city? Or is it a settlement elsewhere in Catania Province? WhisperToMe (talk) 14:49, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fortifications of Sicily

[edit]

Does anyone want to help create/expand articles on fortifications in Sicily? A good start would be translating articles from the Italian Wikipedia, especially the following category: it:Categoria:Architetture militari della Sicilia. Xwejnusgozo (talk) 18:38, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned on the above talk page, I, along with a few others, are hoping to clean this up (above all, the references), so that we can finally be clear of the veifiability notice. Might be an oppoturnity to revive this project a bit, especially for those interested in sicilian language and literature, etc. πιππίνυ δ - (dica) 02:27, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I completed a thourough review of Sicilian language, would appreciate any feedback. πιππίνυ δ - (dica) 02:41, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cademia Siciliana

[edit]

For anyone still active on this project, there has been a recent kerfuffle about a newly created ariticle: Cadèmia Siciliana, and is listed for deletion. Arguments for and against can be made here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cadèmia Siciliana. πιππίνυ δ - (dica) 01:38, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the AfD vote was no consensus. Some good advice was offered in the discussion, and so I would encourage those involved in the article to take heed of it in order to improve the article. πιππίνυ δ - (dica) 07:33, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sicilian nationality

[edit]

It appears to be common on wikipedia that Sicilians born well before the birth of the Italian state are described as being Italian, when clearly, the Kingdom of Sicily existed as a separate nation-state for centuries prior to the risorgimento. I've started a discussion on this page: Talk:Antonio Veneziano (poet), which strikes me as a good starting point. Veneziano lived and died in the 1500s, centuries before the birth of the Italian state, so how on Earth can he be viewed as being Italian? πιππίνυ δ - (dica) 23:20, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
