Bizarre vandalism at Koreans in Japan that I can't figure out how to fix

[edit]

The Koreans in Japan article links to ja:長田区役所襲撃事件 via the interlanguage links in the sidebar. I went to WikiData to fix it, but the WikiData item links to the correct article. I have no idea how to fix this. Can anyone help? Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 04:10, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Figured it out. The vandal added a hidden interlanguage link with this edit. The account has only ever made this one edit. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 04:23, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

X-League

[edit]

Can someone format X-2 and below into the same table format as X-1 for consistency? LordAtlas (talk) 06:12, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about a change to Template:Nihongo

[edit]

I'm not overly sure how many eyes are on Template:Nihongo, but I've opened up a discussion on the talk page about the placement of the help question mark and a suggestion to move it after the kanji/kana parameter rather than the romanji parameter. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 20:20, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We – Community Tech – are happy to announce that the Popular pages bot is back up-and-running (after a one year hiatus)! You're receiving this message because your WikiProject or task force is signed up to receive the popular pages report. Every month, Community Tech bot will post at Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan/Archive/May 2017/Popular pages with a list of the most-viewed pages over the previous month that are within the scope of WikiProject Japan.

We've made some enhancements to the original report. Here's what's new:

  • The pageview data includes both desktop and mobile data.
  • The report will include a link to the pageviews tool for each article, to dig deeper into any surprises or anomalies.
  • The report will include the total pageviews for the entire project (including redirects).

We're grateful to Mr.Z-man for his original Mr.Z-bot, and we wish his bot a happy robot retirement. Just as before, we hope the popular pages reports will aid you in understanding the reach of WikiProject Japan, and what articles may be deserving of more attention. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at m:User talk:Community Tech bot.

Warm regards, the Community Tech Team 17:15, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

While searching sources I found a trove of new titles to add but the translations in the source seem off. [1] "五一ぢいさん" in particular bothers me as it says it translates to "Old Man Goichi". The characters in old style Japanese though were flipped so んさいぢ一五 would I think read "51 secrets". The kanji for old man is じいさん, I don't know how the character "じ" was added in place of "ぢ". - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 03:37, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ぢいさん is just an old way of writing じいさん.-- 03:51, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why would it be 51 secrets? How did you read it that way? LordAtlas (talk) 04:03, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how I came to that, but Juhachi cleared things up. Thanks! - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 04:07, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
