This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to North Carolina. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|North Carolina|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to North Carolina. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to US.

[edit]- Pivot (American band) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
This is a stub article on a North Carolina band that has been unreferenced for many years. In a before search I have been unable to determine any evidence to show the subject meets WP:MUSICBIO. I'd be happy to be proven wrong - but unless something turns up, Pivot does not appear to meet notability guidelines. ResonantDistortion 00:10, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

- List of University of North Carolina at Charlotte student organizations (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Subject lacks the necessary coverage of the grouping from secondary sources (not the university itself or a student newspaper) to meet the WP:NLIST. A PROD was removed with the claim that there are many sources available, but I couldn't find any to support the notability of this list. Let'srun (talk) 23:12, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

*This discussion has been included in the DelSort list for: list of Fraternities and sororities-related deletion discussions. Jax MN (talk) 00:48, 28 November 2024 (UTC) - Keep - This nomination was offered AFTER two significant references were added, confirming notability and accuracy. While yes, they are from the University, they are operationally distinct from the organizations themselves and are secondary in nature. Student organizations, normally operating without fanfare, are typically not the subject of national news. Nevertheless, on their campuses and in their communities, they remain notable. Some exist for as long as the college has existed. To summarize, this is a list class article, and a work in progress. Deletion would serve no purpose. Jax MN (talk) 00:20, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Student clubs and organizations are not inherently notable. Plus anything published by the university is not independent because it's either written by the students or the administration. Conyo14 (talk) 07:33, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Delete. The clubs and organisations listed which have links are not unique or specific to the university itself. Fails WP:NLIST. Ajf773 (talk) 22:57, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
