Both Vyaiskaya and DxRxXxZx had been making large changes to some important articles, and reports about them had been filed at WP:AN3, starting in December 2020. Someone made a suggestion there was socking going on, and then I looked the edit history of Talk:Westernization and found the two users making similar edits. I then ran a check and found evidence that DxRxXxZx was  Confirmed to Vyaiskaya. The older account was Vyaiskaya, created on 2 August, 2017. I have blocked both accounts indef but hope that someone else will tag as needed. The two accounts appear too sophisticated to be new, so we may hear more from this group in the future. I'm filing an SPI only for the record. No further action appears to be needed. EdJohnston (talk) 22:06, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm opening this on behalf of Noelcubit, who inadvertently tried to file a report directly on the archive page back in February. The original text was:

EdJohnston RoySmith This IP user is definitely a sockpuppet of Vyaiskaya—he is restoring Vyaiskaya's old edits on the same exact articles he previously edit-warred on. This IP user already has started a revert war on another article—if you check his edit history, he is currently cursing at whoever reverts him, and is not stopping reverting. Same as Vyaiskaya used to do before, too many similarities; and Vyaiskaya and this IP user's interests are matching. Check the interaction timeline. I believe user ‎Cyanmax is a sock account of formerly blocked Vyaiskaya and DxRxXxZx. Both Vyaiskaya and DxRxXxZx had previously made large changes to Westernization, and reports about them had been filed at WP:AN3, starting in December 2020. The edit history of Westernization and Talk:Westernization confirms the users made similar edits. A previous check was conducted by another editor (I believe by EdJohnston back in January 2021) and evidence that DxRxXxZx was  Confirmed to Vyaiskaya was found. ‎All three accounts have been/are seemingly infatuated on the Westernization article and the edit summaries of all three use the same type of lingo/grammar/style, as seen here: Edit summary by DxRxXxZx/ Edit summary by ‎Cyanmax. Similarly, once the user is confronted, they tend to become hostile and accuse other editors of wrongdoing, as seen here: Edit summary by Vyaiskaya/ Edit summary by Cyanmax. @RoySmith: Please see the evidence above, and the talk page and edit history of Westernization. It is the same thing over and over again. I believe Cyanmax is in fact indeed a sock of Vyaiskaya. Noelcubit (talk) 13:04, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@RoySmith: see below for more proof. Noelcubit (talk) 15:03, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@RoySmith: If you please, see the edit-history of Westernization, and notice the behaviour of Cyanmax, and Vyaiskaya and his sockpuppet, you will clearly see a familiar vibe between the both. Both of them have an urge to bring everything to the talk page, AND BEFORE GETTING CONSENSUS, starting their usual aggressive reversing. They just claim bring your points, however, it is only them that wants the change. Nobody else. So shouldn't it be them who should get the consensus? That is how it works. But Wikipedia lets these new accounts continue their vandalism. Both of them also have the same habit, of threatening on user talk pages. Such a short period of time, and new users challenging the same sentences, and their behaviours, as well as talking style matches, does it not a sting a bit? I am not the only one who thinks this. Archives908 also agrees. Noelcubit (talk) 15:03, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Noelcubit. Not sure how much more clear it can get at this point that the accounts are related. The most recent talk page message left under Talk:Westernization by Cyanmax mirrors identically the topic and concerns left by DxRxXxZx directly above and that of Vyaiskaya's comments from December 2020. All three users focus on very specific content/section of the article, moreover, the style of language used is oddly very similar. I believe this is more then just a coincidence. If you're talking about Special:Diff/1036237973 vs Special:Diff/996387256, I'm not seeing how this demonstrates socking. If those are not the correct edits to be looking at, please supply the specific diffs which demonstrate socking. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:53, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Additional information needed - You're going to have to be more specific than that. I looked at Cyanmax in 16 July 2021 and came to the conclusion that they're not a sock. Looking at it again, I'm still of that opinion. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise, but you've got to give specific evidence, not just "It is the same thing over and over again". -- RoySmith (talk) 13:58, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • No evidence has presented that Cyanmax is a Vyaiskaya sock. As far as I can tell, this is a different person who shares a point of view with some other users, but that doesn't make them a sock. Their style of writing is different, there's some technical indications hints that they're different people, and they're not a "new user"; Cyanmax's account was created several years ago, even if they didn't edit until more recently. Closing with no action taken. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:50, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
