In the article, Developed country, there have been multiple reverts by what seems like different users. However, looking at the articles they are editing and comparing them with each other as well as the sockmaster, they seem to be related somehow.

Target articles are all the same with edits heavily on South Korea and South Korean topics as well as Developed country and economics. This is the same exact article that got Tnaunia blocked in the first place. Tnaunia edited the same target area heavily as the suspected sock sockpuppets.

Just as an example. Note the similarities in the language of each of these users:

All three suspected socks seem to have a liking to stating "Revert vandalism" for any edits that don't follow the "discussion" (talk pages) topics. A common behavior for the sockpupetteer and Hysohan is to make everyone refer to the talk page when they revert. This seems to be what's happening here.

Also, take a look at how the sock puppeteer and the following mix up POV with vandalism:

Hawkchoi hasn't participated in the edit war yet, but has the same kind of summaries as reverting vandalism and saying that you have to discuss. Same as Tnaniua.

I don't know about a connection between Tankonia and Rayesworied, as I'm pretty sure Tankonia was around a good while before Ray. I will note, though, that Tankonia has been edit-warring across numerous articles (particularly with User:GraYoshi2x) for several months, although he has improved since his last block, and edit-warring isn't necessarily relevant to a checkuser request. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 05:14, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I removed Rayesworied after some thought. I admit, Tankiona is the weakest related and this could be a grudge thing. Just as a side note. Just added Tankiona just in case since he/she is also in the bunch. Both accounts (Ray and Tankiona) were created one month after the other and I think that you mixed up Tankiona with Ray. Ray from the log was here a month before Tankiona. Checkuser request isn't only Tankiona though. In the article, they all are reverting the to the same reversion. Elockid (Talk·Contribs) 05:23, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From my talk page: "Hi! These users might be related to user:Tankiona. User talk:Hawkchoi and User talk:221.139.183.206, though they are not active now but the edit tendency was similar to T. Regards. Oda Mari (talk) 05:28, 14 November 2009 (UTC)" Elockid (Talk·Contribs) 05:35, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Though I keep away from editing Developed country these days, I've been watching the article. If I remember correctly, K PoV edits started from this edit. These editors were blocked for their K-PoV edits on Developed country too. These lasting PoV edits should be stopped. Oda Mari (talk) 06:40, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, the IP geolocates to South Korea which from previous investigations, was the established place of Rayesworied. Elockid (Talk·Contribs) 22:51, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alohahell uploaded an image of Northeast Asia Trade Tower on December 12 2009 17:01 (file has been deleted due to copyvio, so no longer in contrib history for user but it was before), exactly 1 minute later it is added 1 to the article by Softjuice, Alohahell stops editing for the day, Softjuice then makes a number of further edits. How does a different user know of an image's exitence only 1 minute after it has been uploaded by someone else? Likely the same user.

Softjuice makes these edits 1 2 3 4 5 on December 30, and stops editing for the day at 21:23. Alohahell makes starts editing that same day at 21:29 and makes these very similar edits: 1 2 3. Alohahell has already been blocked for copyvios and Softjuice has uploaded a questionable amount of images as well.

I would also like to point out that I have a hunch that these two users may also be related to another user that was banned for sockpuppetry, Tnaniua, who edited similar articles and also made similar accusations of vandalism to anyone's edits not in his/her agreement. Also both these two accounts came to be in Aug/Sept of 2009, just a month or two after Tnaniua was banned. It might be worthwhile to see if the users are using the same IP as Tnaniua was. Anawrahta (talk) 18:48, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've just added 112.148.104.47 to to check out as well, because this editor is making nearly identical edits to all the above mentioned editors, and has suddenly starting editing suspiciously now that Softjuice and Alohahell have stopped. Anawrahta (talk) 20:10, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This account looks like a sockpuppet of Tnaniua. Milkmooney edits the same general South Korean articles as Tnaniua, all relating to Korea's history or economy. The characteristic writing style and grammar of Tnaniua all seem to pass on to Softjuice, Tankiona, etc. and now Milkmooney.

The edit summaries in these revisions all correlate with each other, and one of these accounts has already been blocked for being a confirmed sockpuppet: [16][17][18] Also note the same comment posted as an unblock request on Tnaniua's talk page: [19]. This effectively links the account to Tnaniua.

The accusations of vandalism that's associated with Tnaniua or one of its sockpuppets: [20][21][22]

POV and/or dubious information inserted into articles, somewhat similar to the other sock accounts: [23][24]

These history pages could be the most substantial evidence, where Milkmooney abruptly starts editing these articles shortly after Softjuice was blocked for sockpuppetry: [25][26] Then he/she goes on to revert back to a POV-ridden version of Economy of South Korea by Softjuice, with vague reasoning that was already made in the the past by Softjuice/Alohahell about how it's "sourced", "correct", and demanding editors to "discuss first" while leaving no comment whatsoever on the talk page: [27]

Pretty blatant sockpuppet of Tnaniua. Edits exact same articles as blocked sock User:Milkmooney, which all happen to be reverts of my edits to restore NPOV and cleanup. [edit]

I only undid continued vandalism by GraYoshi2x, who has breached WP:V multiple times. I have tracked GraYoshi2x's edits so it will appear as if I'm editing the same articles because it all seemed very suspicious that GraYoshi2x is claiming to "cleanup" when in fact, all he/she is doing is removing any pro-Korea contents, leaving only negative contents into the articles, which is against WP:NPOV. For example, in Songdo International City, he claims that "Songdo International Business District" is the official name when clearly in the city's official website, it is stated as Songdo International City. I undid this to its official name and added the official source, yet GraYoshi2x keeps vandalziing this article. Also, GraYoshi2x removed anything that is pro-Korea or positive of Korea in the reception section, leaving it only with negative/criticizing contents, which is clearly in breach of WP:NPOV.

In Northeast Asia Trade Tower, I undid vandalism again, which is not a cleanup or NPOV as GraYoshi2x claims - it is about simply blanking out anything pro-Korea or positive, regardless of whether it is sourced or significant. Hence, in order to keep the articles balanced and neutral, I'm undoing the vandalism done by GraYoshi2x, who claims any user who is writing anything positive about Korea is a sockpuppet of this user. Milkmooney's edits on the articles are all sourced, yet these have simply been removed, which is why I have reverted to his/her version to leave the sourced information intact.

GraYoshi2x wants to achieve his/her aim of making all Korea-related articles negative (not correcting NPOV or neutralizing it) by simply claiming that everyone who is writing anything positive about Korea and undoing his/her vandalism is a sock. Blanking out entire paragraphs or even sections and leaving only negative contents is good evidence of this. And this sneaky trick has to stop to keep all Korea-related articles neutral and POV. Nekoscape (talk) 13:11, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be surprised if anyone believed you, Tnaniua. Wikipedians aren't that gullible. Especially with the Tnaniua-like accusations of "vandalism," accusing NPOV edits or cleanup as POV, etc. I've breached verifiability? Huh? Looks a lot like this mistake here.
Honestly, who creates an account on the 2nd of March and immediately goes to revert someone else's edits? GraYoshi2x►talk 20:34, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of the pages they're editing are similar to topic areas of the past Tnaniua socks. This is mostly economics and Korean topics. Like previous socks, Tranquilantus has been going around changing pictures on pages. Sock examples are sock 1 and sock 2. What caught my eye a bit was that in one of the images they created, File:Seoul Landmark Montage.jpg. The upper left picture is of the 63 Building. That image was made by Pocketchef who I blocked as a sock of Tnaniua. It's not like that image is widely used either. It's not even used at all according to the usage links on Commons. Might be a coincidence but not entirely sure. Their very first edit is unlike of that of new users as they already know how to format in wiki. I would have duck blocked, but one of the key areas they're not editing, buildings, but instead landmarks/parks (haven't seen this but it's somewhat related I guess).

Need CU for verification. As a note, some of the last socks I blocked are Pocketchef (talk · contribs), Dreamxxtraveler (talk · contribs), and Commomjams (talk · contribs). HOOTmag (talk · contribs) was edit-warring in Developed country over the country rankings in Newsweek's quality of life index [32] [33] [34] [35] [36]. On November 18 he stops editing. Shortly afterwards, a new account, Bluesurfers (talk · contribs) appears, whose only edits consist of reverts identical to those of HOOTmag [37]. Meanwhile HOOTmag hasn't been seen or heard of since, even though he was actively participating in the dispute up until November 18th. This is highly suspicious. Another single-purpose account created for the sole purpose of edit-warring over Developed country. Identical in every respect to his previous sock, Bluesurfers (talk · contribs). Even the user name is very similar. Athenean (talk) 08:00, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to Tiptoety, I have to disagree, I think that it is highly likely that HOOTmag and Bluesurfers/Purpleflights are the same user. HOOTmag hasn't been active since November 18th. It could be that he has moved to a different location either temporarily or permanently and decided to start fresh. Bluesurfers/Purpleflights also makes identical arguments in the talkpage, namely, that Newsweek's Quality of Life index is better than the Economist's. He is reverting to exactly the same version as HOOTmag. He also likes to present his talkpage arguments in bullet/number format and makes identical use of boldface in his talkpage comments (e.g. here [38]). Lastly, he appears knowledgeable about wikipedia policy, to an extent that it is unlikely that he is a new user. 20:32, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

  • (By the way, you can reply in the heading below under my comment if you wish in the future. The structure of SPI is nothing like WP:RFAR in that you must comment in your section exclusively.) Anyways, you do raise a solid point about the use of boldface, I guess I didn't notice that part. I had looked over edit summaries, along with grammar and noted that there were a few occasions when they seemed to differ. I'm still rather confused as to why the technical evidence is putting them so far apart from one another, sure they could have moved, but this would have been quite the move. Regardless, if a patrolling administrator/clerk feels that the behavioral evidence warrants blocking the master account I would have no issues with that.
