Does not seem like a plausible misspelling for "sandbox". Searching the term up exactly how this is spelled on Google gives results about a drug/medicine tablet branded as that. 1033Forest (talk) 18:06, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

<deep breath> Desperation Move is an avoided double redirect of Desperation Attack, which was in turn a redirect left behind from a move to Desperation attack, which was in turn an article "that had something to do with video games" that was converted to a redirect before being deleted in 2016, after Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2016 November 10#Desperation attack. The result of the discussion was no consensus. -- Tavix (talk) 18:21, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is no information at the target about listicles, which is what I was looking for when trying out this as a possible source of information for advice about listicles, whether that be for notability, reliability, usefuless, whatever. I don't know if there was at the time of redirect creation, but as things stand now, this is just unhelpful at best, and misleading at worst, so I simply suggest deletion. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 17:47, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. I'm really confused as to what the issue is here. Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists is the page for information on list articles — the nomination rationale makes no sense to me. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 19:15, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    See the article on listicles:

In journalism and blogging, a listicle is an article that is structured as a list, which is often fleshed out with additional text relating to each item.[1][2] A typical listicle will prominently feature a cardinal number in its title, with subsequent subheadings within the text itself reflecting this schema. The word is a portmanteau derived from list and article.

I.e., generally Buzzfeed-style "10 Times Squirrels Got Inside Celebrity Homes. Number 6 Will Shock You". The target guideline page on lists doesn't say anything about these, which is what I and most others would be looking for. WP lists aren't (or at least shouldn't be) listicles. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 19:39, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I highly doubt that "most others would be looking for" information of the BuzzFeed variety; no Wikipedia article is structured this way, and I can think of no reason to expect information about this kind of content in the project namespace. It's also worth noting that article means very different things in the contexts of journalism and encyclopediography — and so listicle will inherit that difference in meaning. In talk page discussions, I've seen the terms list, list article, and listicle used interchangeably, so these redirects are undoubtedly useful to the community. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 19:55, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't understand your keep rationale here. I've never seen anyone use "listicle" to refer to a WP list, whereas I've seen it used extensively to see it refer to the clickbait-style example I described above, often somewhat pejoratively. I'd expect a redirect like this to point to information or guidance or opinion about their use as sources, not the overall page about WP lists generally (unless that page actually had information about listicles, but it doesn't, hence the nomination in the first place). 35.139.154.158 (talk) 20:03, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unless it's been used significantly I would also lean delete /disambuate - I would have thought it was about listicles as sources. (t ¡ c) buidhe 15:32, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. I've had a mostly-written essay on the specific topic of Listicles & Wikipedia lying around in a Google Doc for ages. I'd be happy to clobber the redirect and replace it with my essay if there's a desire for Listicle-specific content in the Wikipedia space, which would render the RFD moot (there'd just be a hatnote to the stand-alone lists target). Many have discussed (and some have cheered for) a "Biden recession" since he became president, though as of today none has materialized.[1] The current target 2022 stock market decline is not a recession. I recommend the redirect be deleted. soibangla (talk) 03:48, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to John Brown (bodybuilder). Jay 💬 06:12, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This person is the sibling of National Football League players Amon-Ra St. Brown and Equanimeous St. Brown, as well as the son of John Brown (bodybuilder) (Amateur Mr. Universe twice and Mr. World three times). None of the 3 family members make the most sense as the target, so I'd argue this is best left as a red link for the time being. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:56, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as original article creator. This made more sense at the time when both Osiris and Amon-Ra were in college and covered within the eldest's article as he was already in the NFL. Now Amon-Ra deservedly has his own article while it does not appear Osiris has continued to play. A red link will encourage creation if & when he's notable.

Ambiguous redirect that's been unwisely pressed into misleading service. The problem with "filmmaker" is that it can mean either a director or a producer, and is sometimes even incorrectly used to mean almost any behind-the-scenes film crew at all, but this was commandeered specifically to the director side of the equation.
