December 13
[edit]This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on December 13, 2013.
Wikipedia:Editing privileges
[edit]- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was no consensus. WJBscribe (talk) 00:54, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Editing privileges → Wikipedia:User access levels (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
This redirect is only linked to in two locations, and both use it as if it talked about a user being allowed to edit at all, but it actually redirects to different advanced permissions users can have. I think the redirect should be deleted, unless we have an appropriate page to retarget it to. Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:13, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- @User:Jackmcbarn: WP:User access levels also discusses indefinitely blocked users, so it seems like a good target for that redirect page. Jarble (talk) 22:46, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- That seems like a tangential mention to me. It's just saying what to do with the advanced permissions if a user gets blocked. The problem is, a user clicking on one of the links to that page will get something totally irrelevant to what they were looking at. Jackmcbarn (talk) 01:48, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
- Keep I don't know of another page that better expresses this concept, nor do I think the redirect is particularly misleading. --BDD (talk) 18:19, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- It's not that the redirect itself is misleading. It's that it's only linked to in two places, and both usages of it are misleading. Jackmcbarn (talk) 18:34, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- @User:Jackmcbarn: In that case, it might be reasonable to remove these two links instead of deleting the redirect page. The pages that link to this redirect are listed here, so it's very easy to remove these links. Jarble (talk) 05:56, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

- Retarget to Wikipedia:Editing policy. I think this would be a better target. Armbrust The Homunculus 01:38, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

- Year of birth missing → Category:Year of birth missing (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
Cross-namespace redirect. It does not see to ever had a real use. Magioladitis (talk) 15:15, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. This should not be in article space for readers of the encyclopedia to bump into. Year of birth missing (living people) and Year of death missing should also be deleted. 5.70.113.236 (talk) 01:12, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

I Remember (Deadmau5 song)
[edit]- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was procedural close. The target is I Remember (deadmau5 and Kaskade song), and it would appear the nominator simply caught a double redirect before it was fixed. --BDD (talk) 06:45, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
- I Remember (Deadmau5 song) → I Remember (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
Leading to a disambiguation page. Intended article seems not to exist at all. Created a loop. The Banner talk 14:04, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

- Keep This is a typical {{R from incomplete disambiguation}} redirect, and since it was formerly a title for one of the articles, there may be incoming external links. --BDD (talk) 06:45, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

- Alexander Barkov → Aleksander Barkov, Jr. (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
Misspelling of names. The father's name is Alexander Barkov. The son's name is Aleksander Barkov. --K.Annoyomous (talk) 11:58, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Retarget to Aleksander Barkov, Sr.. You don't really need RFD for this as no deletion is required and both articles have hatnotes. Siuenti (talk) 14:50, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- My request is to delete this redirect so that I can move Aleksander Barkov, Sr. to Alexander Barkov. Sorry for the confusion. This redirect has to be deleted in order for the article to move into its place. --K.Annoyomous (talk) 19:15, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Then you need requested moves not RFD. Siuenti (talk) 20:32, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Unused redirects to pages in the Signpost WOSlinker (talk) 11:54, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Note There are about 160 other similar redirects (see Category:WikiProjects in The Signpost by name but those are all in the Wikipedia namespace. -- WOSlinker (talk) 13:30, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Move without redirect to Wikipedia: namespace. These cross namespace redirects clearly shouldn't be in article space. It looks like these were created in article space in error so easiest solution is to move them without redirect. 5.70.113.236 (talk) 01:20, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose hardly unused redirects - have a look at Category:WikiProjects in The Signpost by name, a catgory that has taken me months to build and populate. But I suppose that as the creator of those re-directs my oppose does not count, sigh... XOttawahitech (talk) 15:36, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Comment here is a bit of an explanation about how these redirects are used XOttawahitech (talk) 15:43, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- @Ottawahitech: Have you seen Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Series/WikiProject report ? -- WOSlinker (talk) 15:54, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Comment. Firstly your being creator does not mean your views do not count or carry less weight than anyone else's. Most of the pages in that category are in the Wikipedia namespace already and so would not be affected (they are not part of this nomination), moving those that are in article space into project space will also not affect the categorisation at all. Thryduulf (talk) 15:50, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- @Thryduulf: Have you looked at this category? How useful is it as an alphabetical index when all entries are preceded with ‘Wikipedia: WikiProject’? XOttawahitech (talk) 16:11, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

- Move without redirect to Wikipedia namespace per the anon user above, these are useful redirects per Ottawahitech but they should not be in article space. Thryduulf (talk) 15:50, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- It'd be fine with a move as well. -- WOSlinker (talk) 15:56, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
