Basic information

[edit]

This vandal using primarily IPs from the western side of Greater London (London proper and Hayes, Hillingdon) makes disruptive changes to rapper biographies, especially Frenchie (rapper) which gives this case its name. Other disruption is in general music articles, and film articles. FV frequently edits New York-based (especially New York City-based) rappers such as AZ (rapper), Grafh, Nas, Capone-N-Noreaga and Uncle Murda. The best collection of FV's articles is found at Special:Contributions/213.78.80.243, one of the more prolific IPs.

FV's first obvious tell was abject avoidance of the issue found at Talk:New York#Proposed action to resolve incorrect incoming links and removing intentional redirects. FV used the edit summary "(New York (state) redirects New York)" hundreds of times. Other frequent summaries are "ABC worked with XYZ" and "ABC and XYZ are friends", used to make tenuous connections when listing or refactoring Associated Acts.

The vandal often violates WP:NOTUSA,[1] and he often changes associated acts and record labels.[2] He may remove the convenience spaces in the infobox.[3][4] He may turn date-range dashes into hyphens.[5]

More IPs are coming forthwith, but much can be found at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/62.49.119.18/Archive.

A new possible tell: Inexplicably changing extant indefinite article "a" to "an" where it clearly doesn't belong, cf.: "an British rapper" and "an 1998 film". JesseRafe (talk) 21:04, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
