The result was keep. While most of the commenters opposed deletion, there's no clear consensus if and where it should be merged, so I'm leaving that open for further discussion on the talk page. Mgm|(talk) 12:38, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Motormaster (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
This character does not establish notability independent of Transformers through the inclusion of real world information from reliable, third party sources. Most of the information is made up of original research and unnecessary plot details. There is no current assertion for future improvement of the article, so extended coverage is unnecessary. - Keep It makes pleanty of references to unrelated sites, and it's been expanded on several times. The character himself is voiced by a famous personality, and had appeared in a TV series and comic book series by three different companies over the 22 years of his existance. The prototype for a variant of the toy of this character sold on ebay for over $2000 and made the toy collecting news. The article is also part of various projects, and links to and from many pages. - Keep. The article mentions the voice actors who played this character, the character is not a walk-on, they appeared in multiple works of fiction and the toy sold for a high amount on eBay. I agree that some sources need to be improved, but claiming there's no real world information is blatantly false. - Mgm|(talk) 09:05, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment - Just about every single Transformers article should almost certainly be trimmed of non-free images, trivia, cruft and speculation and amalgamated into a substantially trimmed List of Transformers characters. But it's just so onerous a task with so many uber-Transfanboys that would oppose, that I'm not touching this with a ten-foot pole. Bottom line, though, is I'm not sure a piecemeal AfD process is the best way to go. --EEMIV (talk) 12:54, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge or Delete - not enough notability established for a separate article. (urbandictionary as a reference? seriously?) But per what EEMIV said, this is one of those areas of wikipedia that'd need a lot of sustained efforts to harmonize with policy, and not many people willing to put in that effort. - Merge or perhaps keep, depending on discussion at the talk page. Possibly the references are sufficient for an article by itself--but even with stronger references, in convention RSs, articles of this sort are still nominated for deletion on the basis of being unsubstantial, or whatever other reason can be given. See above for further comment on this series of deletions. DGG (talk) 16:59, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to Stunticons. The subgroup article is a more appropriate place to discuss as the notability of Motormaster is as part of the combining robot subgroup. The information on this and other members of the Stunticons can be summarized and turned into a table and inserted into the Stunticons article. --Polaron | Talk 15:04, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete due to lack of reliable sources independent of the subject. There's no appropriate list to merge to, and I suspect that if one were created, it would be listcruft. Stifle (talk) 11:08, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
